School Foundation Campaign
Emulating colleges, many school districts across the nation are establishing foundations. The top 100 school districts in the United States have foundations and have embarked on major fund raising endeavors. The reality that tax dollars can no longer provide all the programming needs of students is becoming more evident each year. The purpose of funds raised through a Foundation Capital Campaign is to supplement, not supplant, current programs and services. The reasons
for campaigns include: · Establishing an endowment fund · Creating student-at-risk programs · Enhancing cultural opportunities for both students and community residents · Providing additional academic programs in the areas of English, math, science, computers, etc. · Enhancing opportunities in technical education · Establishing new scholarships · Generating funds to encourage post secondary education for needy students · Promoting school-to-work initiatives · Enhancing athletic activities and facilities to include synthetic turf A school district foundation can benefit not only financially from a Capital Campaign but from the enthusiasm and activism of parents, grandparents, alumni, local business leaders and community residents. |
